American Islamic Congress

The American Islamic Congress (AIC) is a minority group largely comprised of African-Americans, converts, immigrants, and the children of immigrants that has prospered in America’s climate of religious tolerance and civil rights. AIC champions pluralism and condemns all forms of intolerance, while also working to guarantee equal rights within American society. The organization also advocates for the rights of minorities in the Muslim world and promotes civic engagement and leadership among American Muslims. AIC's student-led initiative, Project Nur, aims to empower responsible leaders to cultivate an environment of acceptance and mutual respect between Muslims and all communities, with goals including promoting human rights and civil rights, engaging in civic and entrepreneurial initiatives, celebrating diversity, and building the next generation of leaders.
