Boreal Songbird Initiative

BSI aims to raise awareness about the significance of the Canadian boreal forest for North American birds and the environment. The organization emphasizes the importance of international attention and conservation efforts due to the high volume of trade between the U.S. and Canada, as well as the impact of American consumption on resource development in the boreal. BSI recognizes the historical focus of U.S. birding and naturalist groups on the wintering grounds of migratory birds and advocates for a shift in attention to the boreal breeding grounds.
