The Building Blocks Collaborative (BBC) is an initiative of the Alameda County Public Health Department focused on health equity. With the Life Course Perspective as its theoretical framework, BBC brings together a diverse group of multi-sector organizations committed to creating equitable community conditions that support well-being from early life. Over 100 members have engaged in collaborative efforts to advance systems change and improve social, environmental, and economic conditions that perpetuate inequities. The BBC mobilizes partnerships, redesigns services, and incubates projects to ensure all children in Alameda County have the best start in life.
