Building Futures Inc

Building Futures Inc is a Department of Labor Green Jobs Innovation Fund funded program that partners with community organizations, registered apprenticeship programs, and industry contractors to provide six-week pre-apprenticeship training. The program helps participants determine their interest and readiness for entry-level construction jobs and prepares them to join and succeed in a construction apprenticeship program. Building Futures also provides career exploration, blueprint reading, construction math, key certification, some hands-on practice, case management, and follow-up support. Once placed in a quality apprenticeship program, graduates receive on-the-job training, good salaries, benefits, and continued support services. The program also supplies a highly trained and skilled workforce to the construction sector and its emerging green technologies with key certifications. Additionally, Building Futures partners with employers to increase utilization of apprenticeship training and access to training for low-income residents in the area.
