Cafe Phoenix is a social enterprise that was established to provide vocational training for individuals with mental health disabilities, while also operating as a sustainable business. The cafe has garnered media attention from publications such as the San Francisco Chronicle and the LA Times. Specializing in burgers, salads, sandwiches, and a popular Thursday ribs special, Cafe Phoenix directs all proceeds towards supporting individuals with disabilities in the food service industry. As a program of Hire-Ability Vocational Services (RAMS, Inc), Cafe Phoenix offers culturally competent vocational services and job placement opportunities for participants. By dining at Cafe Phoenix, patrons not only enjoy delicious food, but also contribute to the community by providing employment opportunities for individuals with disabilities.
