The North Coastal Art Gallery, managed by the Carlsbad-Oceanside Art League (COAL), is a non-profit organization established in 1951 to promote art education and cultural appreciation in the community. With approximately 200 artist members, COAL offers public demonstrations, student scholarships, outdoor displays, art exhibitions, classes, workshops, and cultural tours. The gallery showcases a wide selection of art produced by local artists, including oil & acrylics, water media, pastels, drawing/printmaking, mixed media/collage, photography, computer art, and sculpture. Supported in part by a Community Arts Grant from the City of Carlsbad's Cultural Arts Office, COAL is dedicated to fostering art enrichment for the public.
