Business Description
The Central Alabama Women's Business Center, a project of the Schlarb Foundation for Women Entrepreneurs, was established in 1999 to support socially and economically disadvantaged women business owners in the seven-county area of Central Alabama. Funded in part by the Small Business Administration, the Business Center offers educational scholarships, counseling, loan assistance, and mentoring programs to help women entrepreneurs succeed. Since opening in 2001, the center has assisted in generating over $138 million in gross receipts and adding 469 new paid employees. The CAWBC is dedicated to providing women with the tools, knowledge, and resources needed to start and grow their businesses.
