Founded in 1974 by Charles Samelson, Inc, Chatelane Inc has become a leader in creating and perfecting highly styled Fire Retardant fabrics for the contract and residential marketplace. The company experienced consistent growth throughout the "70's and "80's, leading to the founding of the Chatelane division and the need for expansion to a new warehouse in 1985. Further growth and acquisitions led to the establishment of a state-of-the-art warehouse and print facility in Spartanburg, S.C. in 1990 and a doubling in size of the facility in 2001. Today, Samelson-Chatelane maintains the largest line of fire retardant fabrics in the industry, as well as an extensive line of prints, base cloths, and exclusive woven upholstery products for use in all interior and exterior environments for the Hospitality, Cruise Line, and Restaurant industries.
