Chicago Cares Inc

Chicago Cares Inc is a nonprofit organization founded in 1991 by Leslie Bluhm and Mary Prchal, with the vision of creating a city where all residents are actively engaged in the success of their communities. The organization offers 250 monthly volunteer programs in areas such as education, environment, hunger, health, and senior services, bringing together volunteers from diverse communities to address critical needs and foster civic engagement. Chicago Cares also organizes annual events, including Serve-a-thon, the largest volunteer day in Chicago. Through its programs and partnerships with local leaders and organizations, Chicago Cares aims to challenge pre-conceived notions and build a stronger, more unified Chicago.
