Conservation Corps

The California Conservation Corps (CCC) is a state agency that offers young adults aged 18-25 the opportunity to serve their state and gain valuable work experience in environmental conservation, fire protection, and emergency response. Established in 1976 by Governor Edmund G. Brown Jr., the CCC is the oldest and largest conservation corps program in the country. Corpsmembers receive training and acquire skills while working on a variety of projects throughout the state. The CCC accepts individuals of all income and education levels and provides opportunities for career advancement and scholarships. With a dual mission of benefiting both young people and the environment, the CCC has achieved significant accomplishments in natural resource conservation and emergency response work.
