Covenant House New York is an adolescent care agency located in New York City, serving homeless, runaway, and at-risk youth. Established in 1969, the agency provides safety, crisis care, shelter, and food to over 7,000 youth annually. In addition to these basic needs, Covenant House offers a wide range of services, including health care, educational and vocational assistance, drug abuse treatment and prevention programs, legal services, recreation, pastoral care, and mother and child programs. The agency also provides transitional living programs, community resource centers, mental health programs, and assistance in finding long-term living accommodations and aftercare. Covenant House operates in over 20 cities in the United States and in Latin America, offering counseling, referrals, educational and vocational programs, medical and legal services, and youth leadership.
