Business Description
Dr. Daniel D. Sewell is a board-certified psychiatrist and professor at UC San Diego School of Medicine, specializing in the treatment of older adults with behavioral health issues. He is the director of the Senior Behavioral Health Program and co-director of the Memory Aging and Resilience Clinic. Dr. Sewell's clinical focus includes assessing and treating older patients with depression, anxiety, and severe behavioral disturbances related to dementia. He also provides outpatient medication management and long-term psychotherapy for adults of all ages. His research has explored the use of neuropsychological tests to distinguish between signs of depression and early dementia in older adults, as well as examining sexual health among older adults and optimal prescribing of medications for people with dementia. Dr. Sewell is also the associate director of UC San Diego Hartford Center of Excellence in Geriatric Psychiatry and president-elect of the American Association for Geriatric Psychiatry. He was named a Top Doc in San Diego in 2014 for Geriatric Psychiatry and Psychiatry.
