Dental Assisting National Board

The Dental Assisting National Board (DANB) is a nonprofit organization founded in 1948 with a mission to provide credentialing services to the dental community. DANB offers valid dental assisting exams, recertification requirements, and valuable certifications. Its exams and certifications are recognized or required by 38 states, the District of Columbia, the U.S. Air Force, and the Department of Veterans Affairs. With over 38,000 certificants nationwide, DANB is the nationally recognized certification agency for dental assistants. The organization is accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies and is a member of the National Organization for Competency Assurance and National Commission for Certifying Agencies. DANB offers assistance to various dental professionals and administers vocational-technical dental assisting and CODA-accredited programs. Its recertification programs include college courses and home study options. The organization is located in Chicago.
