EcoRise

EcoRise is a comprehensive, in-school program that empowers young people in middle schools and high schools to tackle real-world challenges in their schools and communities by teaching environmental literacy, social innovation and hands-on design skills. The core subjects include energy, food, transportation, waste, water, public spaces and air quality. EcoRise promotes an applied understanding of STEM and cultivates the development of 21st century skills. The program is academically-aligned and introduces students to sustainability and career opportunities in the fields of green technology, engineering and sustainable design. While based in Austin, Texas, EcoRise is expanding to other Texas cities and has adapted its curricula to Pre-K and elementary schools, as well as after-school settings. The organization is supported by valued partners like Balcones Resources, H-E-B Grocery Company and The Meadows Foundation.
