Forward Together

Forward Together is an organization with a rich history of organizing Asian youth in Oakland, focusing on creating safer spaces for young Asian women to address pressing issues in their lives. In 2011, they expanded their work to include young Asian men and now operate a multi-gender youth organizing program that centers the experiences of queer and trans young people. The organization's CORE youth program brings together a diverse group of high school-aged people in Oakland to advocate for young people's access to sexual health resources and information. They work to train young Asian leaders from low-income, immigrant, and refugee families, encouraging them to stand up for the well-being of themselves, their families, and their communities. Forward Together is a multi-racial organization working to transform culture and policy to catalyze social change, with a focus on ensuring that women, youth, and families have the power and resources they need to reach their full potential. Their Strong Families initiative aims to redefine family values and shift culture and policy to align with the needs of all families.
