The Frye Art Museum, located on Seattle's First Hill, was founded in 1952 by Charles and Emma Frye, prominent early-twentieth-century Seattle business leaders and art collectors. The museum's Founding Collection celebrates primarily late-nineteenth and early-twentieth-century German art, and also owns an extensive collection of artworks purchased or gifted since its opening. The museum offers free admission and hosts a wide variety of rotating exhibitions, as well as programming and events for all visitors. The Museum Store and Café Frieda provide unique gifts and dining options for visitors.
