Governors Institute

The Governor’s Institute, founded in 1990, is a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation dedicated to improving the prevention, identification, and treatment of substance use disorders, particularly among healthcare professionals. It serves as a valuable resource and partner for the community and state of North Carolina, providing networking opportunities and connections among various organizations in the substance abuse field. The Institute also offers professional education and technical assistance to address the profound problem of substance abuse. As a neutral coordinator of resources, it serves as a clearinghouse for research findings and a resource center for programmatic assistance. The Governor’s Institute is headquartered in Raleigh, North Carolina and is committed to expanding its reach into neighboring states as funding allows.
