South Park Telephone completed the installation of a fiber optic cable extending from Fairplay to its Central Office in Hartsel in the spring of 2011. This has enabled its subsidiary, ghValley.net, to offer high-speed internet access of up to 10 megabits per second to the town of Fairplay and surrounding areas using WiMAX technology. This wireless broadband network provides greater range and throughput than Wi-Fi, with carrier-grade quality of service and security. South Park Telephone is proud to be part of the Fairplay community and looks forward to providing this high-speed internet service to local homes and businesses.
