Human Relations Commission

The Human Relations Commission (MCHRC) advocates for victims, creates resources for schools, improves police/community relations, and educates employees and employers. They also empower towns to address local human relations issues by assisting in the creation of local HRC's. The MCHRC maintains a hotline for people to call if they experience bias or discrimination and addresses incidents of bias and discrimination, even violence, against individuals who "look different" or "act differently". Formed in 1990, the MCHRC combats the causes of bias and discrimination with a diverse membership representing government, law enforcement, clergy, minority groups, educators, and business.
