Dr. Larry Brilliant, a renowned preventive medicine and public health doctor, conceived and named InSTEDD with a vision to make technological innovations available and accessible to humanitarian and public health organizations. His significant role in the global eradication of smallpox and founding of the Seva Foundation, among other accomplishments, led to him being honored with a TED Prize in 2006.
