JERICHO is a two-part organization consisting of JERICHO: Education for Justice, a 501(c)(3) tax deductible entity, and JERICHO: A Voice for Justice, a non-deductible legislative advocacy group. Founded by Sister Sheila Walsh, SSS, in 1987, JERICHO is an Interfaith public policy agency known for its moral compass and advocacy for social justice. The organization focuses on addressing issues in terms of social morality and speaks for the needs and civil rights of marginalized groups such as the uninsured, homeless, children, low-income workers, farm workers, the elderly, immigrants, those with mental illness, and the hungry. JERICHO is non-partisan and approaches legislation from the perspective of the common good, societal problems, and issues. The organization has actively lobbied for legislation that contributes to the common good of the people of California.
