Established in 1895 in Turin, Italy, Lavazza has a long history of innovation and creativity in the coffee industry. In 1910, Luigi invented a method of blending coffee beans from different origins to create a superior taste. By 1957, Lavazza had become the leading producer of roasted coffee in Italy. The company continued to revolutionize the industry with the introduction of vacuum-packed ground coffee in 1962 and the debut of the first-ever Lavazza calendar in 1993. In 2004, Lavazza addressed sustainable production concerns by developing ¡Tierra!, a high-quality and sustainable coffee product. The company expanded its reach in 2005 by opening upscale cafés in Chicago's Loop, offering a modern option for coffee and light eats with unique espresso beverages and made-to-order food items.
