Massachusetts College of Art and Design

Massachusetts College of Art and Design (MassArt) is a public, independent college of art and design that was founded in 1873. It is the first publicly-funded, independent college of art and design in the country and the first to grant an art degree in the United States. The college's academic and co-curricular programs prepare students from diverse backgrounds to participate in the creative economy as artists, designers, and educators, and to engage in the well-being of their society. MassArt offers a range of professional baccalaureate and graduate programs and is a national leader in visual art and design education.
