Muse Air Corporation, originally established as a Texas-based commuter, faced early challenges due to an air traffic controller's strike and financial struggles. Despite efforts to stay afloat, the company was eventually bought out by Southwest Airlines and rebranded as TranStar Airlines. Despite restructuring and changes to its routes and corporate image, TranStar was unable to turn a consistent profit and ceased operations in 1987.
