New Yorkers for Parks is an independent organization dedicated to advocating for quality parks and open spaces for all New Yorkers in every neighborhood. Their signature projects include the Daffodil Project, which has planted over 6 million daffodil bulbs in memory of 9/11 victims, as well as the Report Card on Parks series, Open Space Index, and City Council District Profiles. With a history of over 100 years, NY4P has successfully fought for parkland preservation, advocated for landmark playgrounds and waterfront parks, engaged low-income teenagers in community initiatives, and conducted award-winning open space research. Their work aims to ensure that parks contribute to healthy lifestyles, social interaction, community stability, and civic pride, ultimately striving for a better New York for all.
