Northeast Asia Economic Forum

The Northeast Asia Economic Forum (NEAEF) has been facilitating dialogue, education, and training among policymakers, businesspersons, academics, and members of nongovernmental organizations in Northeast Asia and North America since 1991. Through Intraregional and Interregional Dialogue, NEAEF has established a network of country committees dedicated to promoting its activities and goals. The forum sponsors dialogue and research on various topics, including energy efficiency, financial institutions, demographic change, and trade liberalization. The idea of a Northeast Asian Economic sphere gained momentum in the late 1980s, leading to the establishment of NEAEF at conferences in 1991. Since then, NEAEF has held annual meetings in various locations, furthering its mission of promoting economic cooperation and development in the region.
