ProPublica

ProPublica is a Pulitzer-winning, non-profit newsroom focused on investigative journalism in the public interest. Founded by Paul Steiger and now led by Stephen Engelberg and Richard Tofel, the organization is independent and largely funded through donations. Headquartered in Manhattan, ProPublica was established in 2007 and began publishing in 2008. The newsroom focuses on producing journalism that shines a light on exploitation and failures of those in power, aiming to address the lack of resources for investigative journalism and the importance of this work in a democracy.
