In 1984, former Philadelphia firefighter Bob Tumolo and his mother, Elizabeth, started selling Italian Ice from a small porch window in Bensalem, PA. They created their own recipe, made fresh daily, and quickly perfected the flavors and consistency of the frozen treat. Today, Rita's is a locally owned small business and ultimate treat destination for families, offering a variety of frozen treats including Italian Ice, Frozen Custard, Milkshakes, Sundaes, and more. With over 600 shops in 31 states, Rita's continues to grow and spread happiness everywhere it goes.
