Safer Pest Control Project is a coalition of environmental groups dedicated to reducing the health risks and environmental impacts of pesticides in Illinois. Since its founding in 1994, SPCP has made significant strides, including winning an EPA Environmental Justice Award, offering natural lawn care seminars, and training professionals and residents on safer pest control methods. SPCP has also played a key role in the adoption of Integrated Pest Management policies in Chicago Public Schools and the Chicago Housing Authority. Additionally, SPCP has published educational materials and launched campaigns to promote safer pest control practices.
