Schmidt Ocean Institute

The Schmidt Ocean Institute is dedicated to advancing the understanding of the Earth's oceans through a broad scope of research objectives. The Institute focuses on excellence in oceanographic research operations, infrastructure and technology development, collaborative scientific research aboard the research vessel Falkor, communications, education, and outreach, and open sharing of information, data, and research outcomes. The Institute provides collaborators with free access to the research vessel Falkor and its facilities, as well as support for ocean research utilizing cost-efficient robotic seagoing platforms and technology and software development.
