Shallow Water Blackout Prevention

The non-profit organization Shallow Water Blackout Prevention was formed by the family of Whitner Milner, who tragically died from SWB in 2011. The organization aims to raise awareness and educate people on the dangers of underwater breath-holding. SWB can affect anyone breath-holding underwater, especially competitive swimmers, navy seals, and spear fishermen. It occurs without warning and can lead to brain damage or death within 2 ½ minutes. The organization urges people to avoid hypoxic training and breath-holding while swimming or underwater to prevent any more senseless deaths.
