St. Mark's School of Texas

The St. Mark's School of Texas is home to the first iGEM high school team in the state. Established as part of a Biotechnology Initiative in 2013, the team has generated significant interest in synthetic biology from the student body, faculty, and school administration. The team has achieved access to a radiation oncology lab, funding for the iGEM Competition, and a four-fold increase in membership of the Biology Club. The school, established in 1906, is a private, nonsectarian, college preparatory boy's school providing education to students in grades one through 12, with a strong alumni network of over 4,000 former students.
