Sustainable San Mateo County

Sustainable San Mateo County (SSMC) is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting the long-term health of San Mateo County's economy, environment, and social equity. SSMC aims to achieve this through providing fact-based information, educating the community about sustainability, integrating sustainability into decision-making processes, and contributing to the overall improvement of the county's economy, environment, and society. Established in 1992, SSMC has been operating as a non-profit group under the administration of the Tides Center and became an independent 501(c)(3) non-profit public benefit corporation in 2002.
