Texas Student Media

Texas Student Media (TSM) is a collection of student-produced media properties at the University of Texas at Austin, including The Daily Texan newspaper, the humor magazine Texas Travesty, the Cactus yearbook, KVRX 91.7, and Longhorn Life. Originally established in 1894 with the Cactus and The Texan in 1900, TSM has evolved to encompass a wide range of media units. In 1971, TSM became an auxiliary enterprise of the university, falling under the umbrella of student affairs. As the organization's scope expanded to include radio and TV, the name was changed to Texas Student Media to better reflect its services.
