The Latham Foundation

Founded in 1918, The Latham Foundation for the Promotion of Humane Education is a unique institution dedicated to fostering a deeper understanding and sympathy for animals, promoting the principles of humaneness, and emphasizing the spiritual fundamentals that lead to world friendship. The foundation serves as a clearinghouse for information about humane issues, the human-companion animal bond, animal-assisted therapy, and the connections between child and animal abuse and other forms of violence. In addition to producing and distributing affordable videos and publications, Latham also sponsors various initiatives and events, such as the "Search for Excellence" Video Awards. As a private operating foundation, Latham does not make cash grants but instead works in non-partisan roles including publisher, producer, facilitator, sponsor, and colleague.
