Tompkins, Thomas E MD

Dr. Thomas E. Tompkins is a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon with over 35 years of experience, specializing in adult hip and knee replacement surgery. He is affiliated with Tennessee Orthopaedic Alliance and is a member of the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons. Dr. Tompkins attended Vanderbilt University on a football scholarship and completed his orthopaedic residency and fellowship in total joint replacement surgery at Vanderbilt as well. In addition to his expertise in joint replacement surgery, he also has extensive experience in general orthopaedics, shoulder, and arthroscopic surgery. Dr. Tompkins has served as a team physician for the U.S. Figure Skating Association and has traveled internationally with elite teams. In his personal life, he enjoys spending time with his wife Kathy and their five children, as well as traveling, cooking, and golf.
