Trauma Recovery, EMDR Humanitarian Assistance Programs (HAP)

Trauma Recovery, EMDR Humanitarian Assistance Programs (HAP) focuses on building the capacity of under-served communities to secure effective trauma treatment through proper training and developing local Trauma Recovery Network (TRN) chapters. Since its inception in 1995, the organization has provided pro bono EMDR therapy to victims of the Oklahoma City bombing and has expanded its efforts to coordinate projects in over 30 countries. Trauma Recovery/HAP aims to educate the public about the effects of trauma, provide support for professionals working with underserved populations, and treat victims post-disaster and in war zones. Through its projects, the organization aims to alleviate immediate suffering and prevent the intergenerational transfer of pain and violence resulting from traumatization.
