Young at Heart Project, established in 1985, is a non-profit corporation that relies on support from foundations, individuals, businesses, and community leaders to improve the quality of life for seniors in convalescent care. The project brings in guest artists from professional musicians and performers, who not only demonstrate technical competency but also a desire to provide a vibrant and ever-changing repertoire specific to senior audiences. By performing music from the 20s, 30s, and 40s, the musicians create a special bond that enhances the emotional and physical well-being of seniors. Current musicians include national fiddle champions, recording artists, and members of opera and philharmonic groups. Young at Heart Project provides live professional musical entertainment for senior populations in convalescent and residential care facilities throughout the Bay Area and Central California Coast Communities.
